Roll Up to Sunrise Celebration!

Sunrise is a goer!!

We are leading a bike ride through the rolling dales of the South-West to Sunrise Celebration 2013.

We're riding from Bristol on Thursday 30th May, with a support van to chuck tents and luggage in and a tasty lunch. Sunrise have kindly offered secure bicycle storage and are chucking in a free pint and shower for good measure. Fancy dress optional (but encouraged, naturally). All we ask is a £10 donation to cover our costs.

'Count me in!' I hear you cry... well just visit www.rolluponbikes.com or email rolluponbikes@gmail.com

TOOT TOOT! Can't wait to pedal with you

Roll Up to Cloud Cuckoo Land

This year Georgie cycled (again) from 'Lands End' to 'John O Groats' with many people, but leading the proceedings were the wonderful family behind the 'Cloud Cuckoo Land Festival'... this one's going to be a goody, I can feel it in my inner tubes!

This festival is a community arts festival, who cycle what they talk. So Roll Up cyclists!

Super exciting Wychwood competition coming soon!!! Hold tight......

Boomtown- The plan
What is it?! A 80 mile cycle along the Sustrans National Cycle network, split over two days that winds its way through the gurt lush countryside.
When?! The ride will leave Bristol Temple Meads 9am on Wednesday, and will aim to arrive at the festival, and have you on site, tents popped up and ready for the your Thursday eve hoot. If you live along the route, and would like to partake, get in touch and ‘roll up’ will sort something out.
What happens on Monday? There will be a bike shuttle service, including luggage transfer, to Winchester train station all day Monday (don’t worry, we know Boomtown Mondays, its only a few miles).
But I am novice! The route is relatively flat. If you haven’t ridden a bike in years, its worth getting out before the ride, but it will be a gentle pace.
What about food?! ‘Roll up’ are culinary cyclists and will being laying on a dinner to satisfy your needs. You’ll have to bring your own lunch money.
What’s the damage? The ride, which includes lunch and baggage transfer will cost £20, which must be paid before.
Roll up is a Sustrans Active Travel champions project.

In Short:
We are a collective of trained cycling instructors and ride leaders who coordinate led cycle rides from major UK cities to UK festival sites. We like to think of ourselves as a pedal powered party!

In Long:
We are Sam, Georgie and Luci and we love cycling! All three of us work with cycling in our daily lives. Sam and Georgie work for the National Cycle Network creating 'Sustrans' (www.sustrans.org.uk) and Luci works for the cycle touring, theatre and world shaping wonderful Otesha UK (www.otesha.org.uk).

All three of us are likely to be found in the fields in the summer and so we decided to combine two things we love, to make a er mega love: Roll Up!

We also like FOOD... Roll Up is not only about wheels, but also about meals...we're going to be cooking up mini storms on our rides, to create tasty treats, positive (experience) picnic's and if it's a long ride... devine dinners!
